Igor Grant is a psychiatrist who has long been researching marijuana. Once, a professor hired Grant to see whether cannabis use affected how University of Pennsylvania medical residents performed. Cannabis did not have that performance-related effect on the residents. Grant kept investigating drugs and human brain function. Recently, he talked about cannabis use for anxiety.

Grant was asked about whether cannabis can treat anxiety and whether it is scientifically verified. In response, he said that while cannabis is not verified thus, there exist studies showing that CBD may be useful in treating anxiety. For instance, some studies that make people who experience public speaking fear undergo the speaking exercise with CBD dosage for anxiety and without it. Grant stated that cannabidiol helped to reduce their anxiety when speaking in front of the public. He also stated that some studies explore whether tetrahydrocannabinol and cannabidiol may help people with PTSD.

Grant was also asked about what people who wish to start consuming cannabis for stress and anxiety should know about it. In response, he stated that the first thing they should know is their cannabis composition. Much of the cannabis available in marijuana dispensaries in cannabis-legal states or street-side stores contains plenty of tetrahydrocannabinol. That may not or maybe what you want for stress or anxiety.

Low dosages of THC can make most customers less anxious, but higher doses of it can occasionally have the opposite impact on them. It could make those customers experience unwelcome or unpleasant hallucinations, feelings of paranoia, or panic attacks.

Grant stated that THC’s effect depends on the form of product that you consume and your experience with it. Individuals who have consumed marijuana to a fair degree know how the body responds; they can ascertain and regulate the level of marijuana they consume. First-time marijuana users or naïve people may be at risk of experiencing undesirable effects, such as feeling too high or stoned as well as anxiousness.

Conversely, Grant stated that cannabidiol may have anxiolytic effects without those adverse effects. Grant recommends consuming a cannabis preparation that contains cannabidiol if people want to try a marijuana derivative.

Another thing about marijuana drugs is that they are not legal under US federal legislation. Therefore, physicians cannot prescribe it to Californians as the Drug Enforcement Administration could take away their licenses to recommend controlled substances. Conversely, a hemp product with CBD for anxiety is federally legal.
